【摘要】:Knowledgeofflammablelimitsatelevatedtemperaturesandpressuresisneededforsafeandeconomicaloperationofsomechemicalprocesses.Thisinformationmaybeneededinordertostartupareactorwithoutpassingthroughaflammablerange,tooperatethereactorsafelyandeconomically,ortostoreorshiptheproductsafely.Limitsofflammabilitydataobtainedinrelativelycleanvesselsmustbecarefullyinterpretedandmaynotalwaysbeapplicabletoindustrialconditions.Surfaceeffectsduetocarbondepositsandothermaterialscansignificantlyaffectlimitsofflammability,especiallyinthefuel-richregion.RefertoBulletin503and627.1.1Thispracticecoversthedeterminationofthelowerandupperconcentrationlimitsofflammabilityofcombustiblevapor-oxidantmixturesattemperaturesupto200176;Candinitialpressuresuptoasmuchas1.38MPa(200psia).Thispracticeislimitedtomixtureswhichwouldhaveexplosionpressureslessthan13.79MPa(2000psia).1.2Thispracticeshouldbeusedtomeasureanddescribethepropertiesofmaterials,products,orassembliesinresponsetoheatandflameundercontrolledlaboratoryconditionsandshouldnotbeusedtodescribeorappraisethefirehazardorfireriskofmaterials,products,orassembliesunderactualfireconditions.However,resultsofthistestmaybeusedaselementsofafireriskassessmentwhichtakesintoaccountallofthefactorswhicharepertinenttoanassessmentofthefirehazardofaparticularenduse.1.3Thisstandardmayinvolvehazardousmaterials,operations,andequipment.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyproblemsassociatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
